Started a new build, 27 chev roadster cowl, 26 chev chassis, 39 ford I beam and wish bone,
probably run a 253. 15 x 5s all round with whitewalls, looking at building a Bucket / modified / trad roadster pickup

Started with this-

may be a few holes to fill

I like the way he did the door and belt line on this one -

things are starting to move on this project. I have a 39 front end, early F100 brakes and a lead on a 48 rear end.
Also looking at a 283 chev and glide. wheels 35 wires I hope.

I would like to get the proportions of this T modified-

I have this 56?F100 bonnet, rear quarters for the tub?

I now have a 283 sbc with power glide to go into my chev project.
I hope to top it off with a tri power set up something like this-

Howdy Spark
Ends up half as good as the little green jobbie and it'll be sweet. Bonnet is a neat idea for rear quarters. Thelittle green monster is what 90" wheelbase?
Cheers

Mate I would be happy if it looked something like the green one from 200 paces!!!!
I will try to keep it basic but well detailed- smoothed, painted and polished. I did contact the owner some time back and he sent a few more pix…very, very nice.

I have a 27T cowl and doors here that I'm doing nothing with. I just bought a '24 Dodge frame with the intention of building a Lakes style T using a f/glass '23 body. I don't have the body work skills at this stage but maybe I should consider the '27 a bit harder. I won't develop the skills buy not doing it. Old Mate looks a bit jammed in "Old Greenie".
Cheers

still its very cool 8) , 4 wheeled motobike    .

one idea I had for mine, was to have a "belly pan" so smooth underneath, attached to a square tube frame, with aluminum on top.
The chev chassis is about 125mm in height so I would gain 100mm depth.

The cross member would follow the bottom of the fire wall and closely to the bell housing/ gearbox to the original rear cross member.

I will make the doors and quarters to a size that makes me comfortable but still in proportion. I don't intend to drive it interstate, just cruz local on a sunny day. We have a blokes hot rod breakfast once a month, and mostly mild weather up here so just going to have fun with it. I will be selling the 30 pickup some time this year and will look for a 28 or 30 coupe for longer trips that require a roof

I am still collecting parts. I have been working on a tri power set up using 3 Rochester 2G carbs.

I pulled the carbs apart and sent them to be hydro blasted, man was I happy with the result!
Image
$57 and they look new inside and out.
I have modified the two outer carbs by removing the power piston (this disables the power valve)
and the choke blades and shafts.

I put in new main jets -#56 primary and #55 secondarys, new gaskets.

I have a nice set of finned valve covers, I will put a new sump on and detail the engine over the winter.

so 283 painted hot rod red with triples will be a good start.

At present I have cut the bonnet in half to get an idea of what it will look like.
I will build a bench with a metal top so I can tack the parts in place.

I will use 10mm rod to shape the body, this way I can hold the cowl and quarters
in place while I make the doors and rear panel.

I will get the body the way I want, then cut it from the bench and make the
27 chev chassis conform to the shape.

I have my tri power carbs on the edelbrock intake ready to go.

here it is sitting on top with valve cover-

Image

still collecting parts, and have a deal on a 48 I beam, I have a 48 pick up banjo (open drive) so
all I need is 40 brakes and front and rear springs and I can get things going.

I need to get the 31 pick up ready for sale, I also have a job to do a 62 Holden ute -
body work and respray so that should get me some cash and free up some space in
my one man, one dog shed.

I thought I saw the Pick-up advertised for sale a month or so back. Keen to see how the quarters and body shapes up.
Cheers
